The Story of Giselle
Giselle is a young peasant girl with a weak heart and passion for dancing. Betrayed by her love, Count Albrecht, heartbroken Giselle goes mad and dances to her death only to be summoned from her restful grave by Myrtha, Queen of the Willis. Albrecht full of remorse, is captured by Myrtha and the Willis while visiting Giselle’s grave. Still deeply in love with Albrecht, Giselle appears and begs Myrtha to spare his life. Unmoved and merciless Myrtha condemns Albrecht to dance to his death. Exhausted, Albrecht collapses to the sound of distant bells signifying the approach of dawn. With the break of dawn the Wilis and their powers fade with the night. Albrecht, safe and forgiven by Giselle, sees her vanish into her grave. Giselle is a timeless story of love, betrayal, heartbreak, vengeance, and remorse.
